Universitas Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT)

Universitas Sam Ratulangi (UNSRAT) is a public university located in Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi Province. Confirmed by presidential decree in 1965 and named after national hero Sam Ratulangi, it is the most important higher education institution of north-eastern Indonesia and holds an A accreditation from BAN-PT. UNSRAT covers agriculture, fisheries and marine sciences, economics and business, law, engineering, mathematics and natural sciences, public health, medicine, social and political sciences, the humanities and teacher training. Its graduate school administers master's and doctoral programmes across these disciplines, with particular expertise connected to the marine biodiversity of the Coral Triangle region. Tuition follows the national UKT system, paid each semester according to family economic capacity, with the independent Tomou Tou track applying the same UKT rates as the national routes. Per-programme amounts are published officially by the university and vary significantly by field; the university has repeatedly been recognised for its international cooperation programmes.
