About Østfold University College

Østfold University College (HiØ) hosts around 8,000 students on its Halden and Fredrikstad campuses in south-eastern Norway, near the Swedish border. It offers bachelor's and master's programmes in computer science and software engineering, languages and literature, social sciences, business, health, teaching and industrial design. Its applied French and modern languages curriculum is one of the few of its kind in Norway. The college cooperates with regional industries, including the Sarpsborg technology cluster. Since 2023, non-EU/EEA students pay annual tuition fees, while EU/EEA citizens remain exempt apart from a semester fee.
