Al Qasimia University (AQU) was founded in 2014 in Sharjah by Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of the emirate. Its mission is the global dissemination of the Arabic language, moderate Islamic culture and the values of tolerance. Set in University City on an eco-friendly campus blending Islamic elegance with modern architecture, the university offers programmes in Islamic studies (sharia and law), Arabic language and literature, business administration, communication and education. Arabic is the primary medium of instruction.
