About Altai State University of Agriculture

The Altai State Agricultural University (ASAU), founded in 1943 in Barnaul from the Pushkin Agricultural Institute evacuated from Leningrad, is one of the oldest and largest agricultural schools in western Siberia. Its programs cover agronomy, animal breeding, veterinary medicine, agricultural engineering, agricultural economics and management, up to doctoral level. Its researchers take part in international projects, including a program with Michigan State University on the impact of climate change. The university operates laboratories, experimental farms and dormitories, and trains the managers of the agro-industry of Altai, Siberia's breadbasket.
