About Higher Colleges of Technology

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) form the UAE's largest applied higher education institution. Founded in 1988 by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the system now runs sixteen campuses across all the emirates, from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah. HCT offers around thirty programmes in applied media, computer information science, education, engineering technology, health sciences and business, all designed in consultation with industry for maximum employability. Tuition is free for UAE nationals, while expatriate students pay semester fees differentiated by field. HCT is also the country's first approved university economic free zone, authorised to incubate companies created by its students and graduates.
