About Petrozavodsk State Conservatory

Petrozavodsk State Conservatory, founded in 1967 as a branch of the St. Petersburg Conservatory and independent since 1991, is named after composer Alexander Glazunov. It hosts around 500 undergraduate and 80 postgraduate students. The conservatory gained international visibility through Tchaikovsky Competition laureates such as Yulia Matochkina (2015) and Alexander Lubyantsev (2007). It maintains partnerships with Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Finland, Norway, Italy and the United States, and runs a student residence a ten-minute walk from campus.
