University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna

The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (Vetmeduni Vienna) is an Austrian public institution founded in 1765, making it the oldest veterinary teaching institution in the German-speaking world. It is Austria's only university dedicated exclusively to veterinary sciences and one of Europe's leading research hubs in the field. It offers the six-year veterinary medicine programme, specialised master's degrees and PhD programmes, and conducts internationally recognised research in animal health, comparative biomedicine, food safety and veterinary public health. Its modern Vienna campus brings together clinics, laboratories and research facilities. As a public university, Vetmeduni follows the Austrian statutory framework: within the standard duration of study, regular students — including international ones — are exempt from the tuition fee and pay only the Austrian students' union contribution each semester (around EUR 25), with the tuition fee of EUR 363.36 per semester due only once the standard duration plus two tolerance semesters has been exceeded.
