Technical University of Liberec

The Technical University of Liberec (TUL), founded in 1953, is the leading public higher education institution in North Bohemia. Born from textile machinery — the region was a major textile centre — it has expanded its scope far beyond those roots. It brings together faculties of mechanical engineering, textile engineering, science, humanities and education, economics, architecture, health studies, and mechatronics, informatics and interdisciplinary programmes. Its provision covers mechanical and industrial engineering, robotics, textile materials and nanotechnologies, informatics, architecture, economics, education and health care. Around 8,000 students work in respected laboratories, notably in smart textile materials and mechatronics, in close partnership with regional industry. Czech-taught studies are free of charge within the standard duration.
