Technical University in Košice

The Technical University in Košice, founded in 1952, is Slovakia's second-largest university and the leading technological institution in the east of the country. It has accompanied the historical industrial development of the Košice region, notably in metallurgy and mechanical engineering. It brings together faculties of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and informatics, civil engineering, materials, metallurgy and recycling, production technologies, mining engineering, ecology and process engineering, as well as a faculty of economics. Its programmes cover automation, robotics, energy, digital technologies and industrial economics. The university conducts cutting-edge research projects with regional industry, including the major players in steel and automotive manufacturing. It is a key actor in the industrial and technological transition of eastern Slovakia.
