About Sohar University

Founded in September 2001, Sohar University is the Sultanate of Oman's first private university. Its campus lies in the heart of Sohar, the country's second city and a major industrial hub close to Sohar Port and Free Zone, some 240 kilometres north of Muscat. The university is organised into faculties of business, computing and IT, engineering, language studies, education and arts, and law. It delivers diplomas, advanced diplomas and bachelor's degrees in specialisations ranging from accountancy and marketing to chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, alongside software engineering and languages. It also runs postgraduate programmes with scholarships and instalment-based payment options, and publishes a detailed fee schedule broken down by level and teaching unit.
