About Northern (Arctic) Federal University

The Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU), named after Mikhail Lomonosov, was established in 2010 in Arkhangelsk through the merger of several regional institutions. It is one of Russia's ten federal universities and the main educational and scientific centre of the Russian European Arctic. The university spans engineering, natural sciences, medicine, law, economics, philology and pedagogy, with a strong orientation towards Arctic studies, energy, maritime navigation and environmental science. It maintains active international cooperation, particularly within circumpolar networks, and welcomes foreign students to its bachelor's and master's programmes.
