Mozarteum University Salzburg

The Mozarteum University Salzburg (Universität Mozarteum Salzburg) is an Austrian public university of the arts whose roots go back to 1841. It is one of the leading music universities in the German-speaking world and draws on the cultural prestige of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace. It offers more than thirty artistic degree programmes at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level: instrumental performance, voice and music theatre, composition, conducting, drama and directing, sacred music, music and dance education, and musicology. Admission is by competitive audition, and most programmes are taught in German. As a public university, the Mozarteum applies the Austrian statutory tuition framework: third-country students holding a student residence permit pay EUR 726.72 per semester, about EUR 1,453 per year, in addition to the students' union fee.
