About Luhansk State Medical University

Luhansk State Medical University, founded in 1956, is one of the major medical schools of eastern Ukraine. Since 2014 it has been relocated and continues its work in Rivne, in the west of the country. It trains students in general medicine, paediatrics, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, medical psychology and nursing, from undergraduate to doctoral level. Clinical teaching relies on the university hospitals of Rivne. The university has long attracted international students, notably from Africa and Asia, and maintains Ukrainian- and English-taught tracks despite the hardships of war.
