Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (FH Kärnten)

Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule Kärnten) is a public Austrian institution founded in 1995, spread across campuses in Villach, Klagenfurt and Spittal an der Drau. It is one of the leading applied sciences institutions in southern Austria, at the crossroads of the Alpine and Adriatic regions. It offers around thirty bachelor's and master's programmes in engineering and technology (electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, civil engineering and architecture), health sciences, management and business, as well as design and media. Teaching is strongly practice-oriented, built around projects, mandatory internships and close cooperation with regional and international industry. Within the Austrian Fachhochschule system, the financial terms of each programme are set individually by contract; a large share of FH Kärnten programmes charge no tuition fee, with only organisational costs and the student union contribution to be paid.
